Thank you for sharing your Japanese green tea. You may know that high-quality Japanese green tea is so special that the same tea leaves can be steeped 3-4 times. All you have to do is increase the water temperature a little each time (if the water is boiling, you can continue steeping) and you can enjoy a full palette of green tea flavors. Below are some of our brewing tips. However, tea is as much art as science, so don't be afraid to enjoy it for yourself.
Pulling hot water

- Suitable for all Japanese green teas
- Amount of water: 1 teacup / 180 ml
- Water temperature: 90-100 °C / 194-212 °F
- Amount of tea leaves: 1 tablespoon / 5 grams
- Place the dry tea leaves in a teapot (a Kyusu, a Japanese teapot, is recommended because the tea leaves will open and expand. However, any teapot will do.)
- Pour hot water into a teapot in a circular motion to soak all the tea leaves evenly.
- Wait 25-30 seconds (the longer you wait, the longer the tea will steep).
- Pour into a cup and enjoy!

Hot Water Steeping
Suitable for all Japanese Green Tea
Water amount: 1 tea cup / 6 oz / 180 cc / 180 ml
Water temperature: 90-10OC / 194-212F degrees
Amount of tea leaves: 1 tablespoon / 5 grams
- Place dry tea leaves in a tea pot (Kyusu, a Japanese tea pot is recommended as it allows tea leaves to open and expand. Any tea pot work fine, though)
- Pour hot water into a tea pot in a circular motic to soak all tea leaves evenly
- Wait for 25-30s (the longer you wait the more the tea will be)
- Pour into a cup and enjoy!
Pulling hot water
Recommended for high quality Sencha
Amount of water: about 1/3 cup (80 ml) Water temperature: 60-70 °C
Amount of tea leaves: 1 tablespoon (5 grams)

- Pour warm water into an empty teapot.
- Once the teapot is warm, pour water into a teacup to heat it as well and let the water cool.
- Place the dried tea leaves in a teapot and wait 1 minute. Enjoy the enchanting aroma of the tea.
- Pour the hot water from a teacup back into the teapot in a circular motion to soak all the tea leaves evenly.
- Wait 1-1.5 minutes (the longer you wait, the stronger the tea will be).
- Pour the water into a cup and enjoy!
Warm water steeping
Recommended for High Quality Sencha
Water amount: about 1/3 cup 3 oz/80 cc/80 ml Water temperature: 60-70C/140-156F degrees
Amount of tea leaves: 1 tablespoon/5 grams
- Pour warm water into an empty tea pot
- When the tea pot gets warm pour water out into a tea cup to warm it too and cool water in a meanwhile
- Place dry tea leaves in a tea pot and wait for 1 min, during which you can enjoy mesmerizing tea fragrance
- Pour warm water from a tea cup back into a tea pot in a circular motion to soak all tea leaves evenly
- Wait for 1-1.5 min (the longer you wait the stronger the tea will be)
- Pour into a cup and enjoy!
Pulling cold water
Recommended for Hojicha and Genmaicha
Water amount: 1000 cc / 1 l
Water temperature: 5-20 °C / 41-68 °F
Number of tea leaves: 2 tablespoons / 10 grams

- Use a pitcher to make cold, refreshing tea.
- Place the dry tea leaves in a pitcher (you can use a strainer or a tea bag to hold the tea leaves together).
- Pour cold water over the tea leaves in a pitcher.
- Let it sit in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
- Pour into a cup and enjoy!
Cold Water Steeping
Recommended for Hojicha and Genmaicha
Water amount: 34 oz / 1000 cc / 1 L
Water temperature: 5-20C / 41-68F degrees
Amount of tea leaves: 2 tablespoon / 10 grams
- Use a pitcher to make some cold, refreshing tea
- Place dry tea leaves in a pitcher (you may use a pitcher strainer or a tea bag to keep tea leaves together)
- Pour cold water over tea leaves in a pitcher
- Let it sit in a fridge for 2 hours
- Pour into a cup and enjoy!
Ice pulling
Recommended for Kabuse Sencha
Amount of water: 10 ice cubes
Water temperature: 0 °C / 0 °C
Amount of tea leaves: 1.5 tablespoons / 8 grams

- Place the dry tea leaves in a glass jug
- Place ice cubes on the tea leaves
- Let it sit at room temperature for 1 hour so that the ice melts.
Ice Steeping
Recommended for Kabuse Sencha
Water amount: 10 ice cubes
Water temperature: OC / 32F degrees
Amount of tea leaves: 1.5 tablespoon / 8 grams
- Place dry tea leaves in a glass pitcher
- Put ice cubes on top of tea leaves
- Let it sit for 1 hour in a room temperature for ice to melt
